House portraits have been a favorite of mine over the years. Traditionally I have done them in a very detailed, realistic way using pen & ink. (Click here to see that style.) I've now begun a brand new type of house portrait: digital scratchboard. Though all the work is done on the computer, the drawings are hand-scratched just like the ones created with the traditional method. Using a pen, the black is scratched away until the image is revealed in white.

This technique lends a whimsical, "primitive" feel to each house portrait. The final images can be framed or easily made into notecards or holiday cards. It is printed on matte finish paper using long-lasting archival inks. Your order also comes with ten FREE notecards featuring your house portrait; additional cards are $3 each.
